Usually from the manufacturer of the product you wish to continue using Roxio. In reply to Shenan Stanley's post on October 12, In reply to Mike Hall In reply to Elio-Espinal's post on October 12, Do you still have the old computer? You could try installing it. Make a System Restore point manually before you start. Install the software. See if it fixes your issue. If it does: great. If it does not: uninstall it and then use the System Restore point you made to go back to the system state right before you installed it!
Got Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate Edition? I don't think they are free, though. Thank you all very much for any info. In reply to Elio-Espinal's post on October 14, Reboot afterwards at least a couple of times with a few minutes between each reboot. Install it. Come back - let everyone know if that worked for you. In reply to Shenan Stanley's post on October 14, Thank you Shenan. I think there are two types of customer - the one who wants the latest and fastest one with the bright lights and speed stripes and wants it NOW, and the one like you and me who is happy to have something familiar which does what we want and keeps on doing it without fuss.
Unfortunately the first type of customer is the one who always buys the latest version and keeps the company's cashflow moving so you and I get swept along in the wake as he passes. That's modern commerce. That'd be awesome if you didn't mind! It would help greatly as looking at possibly gettin' a laptop which seems to really only come with Windows 7 now.
If I knew it'd work fairly well EXE won't run in Windows 7, and yet the version 5 runs happily. The executable appears briefly as a process in Windows Task Manager, and then within a second it drops out of memory and disappears. I'm sorry about this, but at least we've found out it won't work before you spent extra money on it.
Bummer for sure Thanks for your effort into this, Brendon! It crashed my computer and recovery was scary. I would upgrade to 10 but the cost can't be justified and the reviews on Amazon are vastly bad because it uses too much memory. Not sure about using v. If by "upgrade to 10 " you mean EMC 10 3 years old then that is not compatible.
I have no idea what you or posters on Amazon mean by "it uses too much memory". Some people have installed v9 more then 3 years old on W7 but discovered quickly that it works only for a short time. I agree, Creator 6 was the best version ever. I don't think you'll find a Roxio version which works properly under Windows 7 and yet is very close to version 6.
The current version is v. Not all of them wise or useful. You need to be a member in order to leave a comment. Sign up for a new account in our community. It's easy!

Beerman Thanks again everyone! Brendon Version 10 is two years old, and out of support [Legacy] The latest version is Creator , which would have been EMC 12 if they hadn't stuffed up the naming system.
